Two-Mode Cavity QED; What Happens In The Ground State

The interaction of a Rb atom with the two orthogonal polarization modes of an optical cavity presents quantum beats in the ground state. The experiments with moderate coupling between the atom and the modes show conditional dynamics, subject to control, through correlation function measurements.
